The sunrise was beautiful with the light over the temple changing all the time. At 6.30 Thom brought us through the temple. After Angkor wat we visited two other temples also. We arrived back at our hotel for about 12.30pm.Thom was very informative and helpful throughout and we could recommend him for any local tours. Helped with great photo ops! Would recommend 100%!! Brian S2025-04-03Verified Thom is a terrific tour guide for Angkor Wat Thom San at Travel to Inspire is a terrific tour guide and I recommend him highly for any of your tour needs or even just transportation needs in Siem Reap. Thom took us to Angkor Wat by the back entrance to avoid the huge crowd at the main entrance. If we had gone through the main entrance, we would never have made it to the reflecting pool before sunrise. Then he took us to the “right” place to watch the sunrise over the temple. Then as we walked in and around Angkor Wat, Thom gave us a comprehensive lecture on the temple as well as Cambodian history and culture. It was highly informative without being a boring lecture. Then we went on to 3 other temples and a brunch break at a local restaurant where we ate the food we brought from our hotel. Thom made everything easy and comfortable. I would recommend him highly and will use him again when I return to Siem Reap.
Intinerary
Your 3-day Siem Reap adventure offers a deep dive into ancient history, natural beauty, and unique local life.
- Day 1: Angkor Wat Sunrise & Grand Temples Your tour begins early with an amazing sunrise at Angkor Wat Temple, Cambodia’s most famous landmark. Explore this huge and beautiful temple, seeing its detailed carvings. Afterward, go into the ancient walled city of Angkor Thom through its South Gate. Discover the mysterious Bayon Temple, known for its many smiling faces, along with the old Royal Palace area, the grand Terrace of the Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King. You’ll also visit Baphuon Temple, a big temple-mountain. The afternoon brings you to Ta Prohm Temple, famous as the ‘Jungle Temple’ because of its giant tree roots wrapped around old stone ruins – you might know it from ‘Tomb Raider’. After a full day exploring these Angkor temples, we will take you back to your hotel.
- Day 2: Outer Angkor Temples & Panoramic Sunset Day two explores more unique Angkor temples beyond the main complex. Visit the beautiful Pre Rup Temple, then move on to the special Banteay Srei Temple, famous for its delicate pink stone carvings and distinct style. You’ll continue to explore other important temples like East Mebon Temple, Ta Som Temple, Neak Pean Temple, and the large Preah Khan Temple. We’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant near the temples. To end your Angkor tour, enjoy a breathtaking sunset view from Bakheng Mountain, giving you wide views of the whole Angkor complex before we bring you back to your hotel.
- Day 3: Sacred Kulen Mountain & Kompong Phluk Village Your third day takes you to Phnom Kulen National Park, a sacred mountain and a beautiful escape about a 1.5-hour drive (50km) from Siem Reap. Explore its spiritual wonders, including the unique River of 1000 Lingas with ancient carvings on the riverbed, and take a refreshing dip in the stunning Kulen Waterfall. At the top, see the revered Reclining Buddha statue. After a picnic lunch in nature, we head back towards Siem Reap, then drive to Kompong Phluk Village, a unique floating village (about 31km, 1 hour drive). On the way, we’ll stop at a local market. At Kompong Phluk, explore by boat, seeing its stilt houses and learning about life on Tonle Sap Lake. (Please note: Water levels change with seasons, affecting village views. This village has over 1,000 families). This is a unique look at a special way of life and an important ecosystem.
