Begin your journey with a visit to the Roluos Group Temples, the early capital of the Khmer Empire before it moved to Koh Ker and later Angkor Thom. These temples date back to the late 9th century and showcase the origins of classical Khmer architecture.

  • Lolei Temple – Located at the northern end of the Roluos complex, this temple features beautiful carvings and was originally built on an island.
  • Preah Ko Temple – Admire its three towers guarded by stone lions and detailed carvings, dedicated to early Hindu deities.
  • Bakong Temple – The first sandstone temple mountain of the Khmer Empire, surrounded by a peaceful moat and lush greenery.
