Traveling from Siem Reap to Ratanakiri is a long journey, covering about 460-470 kilometers (around 285-290 miles). The trip usually takes 8 to 9 hours by private car, depending on road conditions and your desired stops.
Our main route will start from Siem Reap, heading southeast on National Road 6 (NH6). You’ll drive past cities like Kampong Thom and possibly Kampong Cham. From there, you’ll connect to National Road 7 (NH7), which leads northeast towards Stung Treng. After Stung Treng, you’ll turn onto National Road 78 (NH78), which takes you directly into Ratanakiri Province and its capital, Banlung. The roads are generally good for most of the way, but some sections closer to Ratanakiri can be a bit rougher, especially during the rainy season.
